Hi, I’m Alise
I’ve been in your shoes.
I know what it’s like to feel like dirt and not get answers.
I spent years as a teenager and young adult tired all the time, never feeling like myself, unable to think clearly and struggling with depression.
My labs were always “fine.” And I did well enough in school and life that it was easier to miss my suffering.
I was lucky enough to be diagnosed with Lyme disease on a standard Lyme test in college (and I say “lucky enough” because many people don’t receive this diagnosis for years because our lab testing is so poor).
I started treatment and was off and on it for 2 years with mild improvement. It wasn’t until I started digging deeper and looking at my health from a multi-faceted perspective that I truly started feeling better.
The biggest changes I noticed were when I began focusing on nutrition, movement, sleep and stress management. And making those changes didn’t come easily and they came over time.
At the risk of sounding cliche, addressing those areas truly changed my life!
And they can change yours, too.
You matter. Your experiences are real and valid. And you deserve to live a radiant life.
My experience as a patient and my time working in healthcare helped shape the provider I am today. Prior to becoming a nurse practitioner, I worked as a nurse on an inpatient cardiac unit. I completed my degree as a nurse practitioner at the University of New Hampshire in 2015. Since then, I have worked in palliative/hospice medicine (do you catch that my overall theme is we shouldn’t suffer?) and then in a functional medicine clinic before branching out on my own. I am in the middle of completing a functional medicine fellowship so I can help my patients even more. NH has been my home for most of my life and I live on the seacoast with my husband, young daughter, and aging puppy. When I’m not working or mom-ing, I’m either reading, outside or cooking up a storm in the kitchen!
